Fruit & Vegetable Market Report 5th February 2016
Not a lot of change on last week really, Purple Sprouting Broccoli remains pricey, Yellow Courgettes are so expensive, G4S are delivering them!
Broccoli and Cauliflower are reasonable, so too are Courgettes now. Shallots, Cherry Tomatoes and Rocket have all eased in price and are a good buy, but Beef Tomatoes are quite expensive. All Peppers have jumped in price and may go higher. With the exception of Mids that are dearer this week, Potato prices are remaining steady at the moment.
Cherries are good but remain very expensive. We have some Peaches from Chile that look good but are rock hard and need to ripen off, the South African are no good either. All Grapes are much dearer this week, so too are Lemons. There’s plenty of Lychees so prices are much cheaper. Yorkshire Forced Rhubarb prices are starting to ease now and Spanish strawberries are better quality this week.
